Introduction
This Policy is a document outlining ELYLITE CARE limited day to day activities of conducting business in accordance to rules and regulations governing the healthcare providing sector
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to promote and maintain fair and effective recruitment and selection procedures of Agency health care workers and to ensure they are carried out to an agreed standard.
The aims of this policy is to-
· Set out a systematic framework to promote objective, transparent and effective recruitment for our agency staff.
· Continuously improve the consistency and effectiveness of recruitment and selection process of Elylite Agency healthcare staff .
· Ensure that the recruitment procedure promotes a positive image of Elylite through competent staff.
POLICY STATMENT
Elylite is committed to providing equality of employment opportunity for our member staff and prospective employees. Every possible step will be taken to ensure that members of staff are fully trained and are treated equally and that recruitment selection and training is solely based on objective job criteria either as a Healthcare Assistant or as a Registered Nurse.
This policy and procedure establishes an effective, accountable and transparent framework for managing ELYLITE CARE workforce and ensures compliance with Health and Social Act 2008 and Employment Act 2008 respectively.
Scope
This policy applies to staff directly or indirectly employed or engaged with Elylite Care, governing Boards and other Healthcare or organizations conducting business with us.
Induction process

· Elylite shall ensure all security checks are update including Health and safety processes and fire drills procedures such as assembly points, visitors signing and what to do in the event of fire.
· WHEREAS THERE ARE NEW STAFF, NEW TO CARE, ELYLITE WILL INSURE THEY CONDUCT NO LESS THAN 12HRS TRIAL IN A CARE HOME SETTING.

Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of Elylite to ensure that all their staff are fully trained and comply with the requisites needed to fulfill their duties in Health Care whether as a Healthcare Assistant or as a Registered Nurse.
· Elylite will ensure all their staff meets the required training.
· Ensure legislation is adhered to.
· Ensure that disciplinary procedures are followed.
Selection criteria
Elylite approach to recruitment is that of rigorous checks and assessment designed to effectively select competent staff without any prejudice of either, gender sexuality or religious views.
(please see appendix 1 for recruitment check list)
Application Forms
Elylite uses standard Health care application form ( see appendix 2 application form)
All candidates must apply through filling an application which will be assessed before interview.
Prior to commencing work
All our agency staff is responsible for furnishing recruitment documents, see appendix 1. And assist management in filling out the DBS form.
Applicants are required to produce the DBS certificate once it has been sent to them of which a copy is returned by Elylite who will make a decision on whether or not it is satisfactory for employment in Health care under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
A copy of this can be forwarded to a client at their request. According to the new Data Protection Act 2018 Police checks will be made every 12 months according the Police Act 1997. (see appendix).
Elylite will assess convictions if any in accordance to law, carry out risks assessment and any applicants found unsuitable will not be asked to join our company and failure to disclose any convictions will also lead conviction according to our disciplinary procedures.
REFERENCES
References are an important method of verifying the authenticity of the candidates claim made in their application form . Elylite will obtain 2 satisfactory references prior to offering employment.
An applicant is required to provide references for their last 2 employers and information obtained in the reference is confidential and will not be discussed with the candidate unless they wish to as stipulated by Data Protection Act 2018
Privacy policy
Introduction
The aim of this policy is to explain what personal data (information) Elylite we will hold about its employees or prospective candidates, how we collect it, and how we will use and may share information about our candidates during the application process. Elylite is required to notify its candidates of this information under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We will comply with the data protection principles when gathering and using personal information, according to current legislation.

Elylite may collect the following information during the recruitment process:

· Religious / cultural requirements if you have chosen to inform us;

· Details of your referees.
According to the Data protection Act 2018, Elylite will also obtain,
· Information about your previous academic and/or employment history, including details of any conduct, and character references.
· Elylite might share this information to our clients at your consent on needs to know basis

This information is retained in Elylite database for a maximum period of 6months of which consent is sort from individual whether or not they wish to have the information discarded or retained.

QUALIFIED STAFF MEMBERS (Nurses)
It is Elylite responsibility that all its qualified members or Nurses have NMC registration up to date and this is reviewed every 3 months to check validation. Elylite will ensure that our employees would not continue working with immediate effect if for any reason their NMC registration expires or is deemed void.
Whereas it is also the responsibility of a qualified Registered Nurse to ensure that they conform to NMC guidance during the course of their work and failure to notify Elylite management immediately of any circumstances that might affect their NMC registration will therefore be subject to disciplinary action and or dismissal in accordance to our disciplinary policy.
Elylite will ensure that they remind their staff at least a month before hand if their NMC registration is about to expire. Any renewal will be kept in the employees file after Elylite has satisfactorily confirmed online.
To meet revalidation, all NMC registered nurses must.
· Undertake at least 35 hours of learning every 3 years.
· Serve 450 practice hours
· five practice related feedback
· Health and character declaration
· Reflective discussion with another senior NMC registered nurse
· Provide confirmation of all the aspects of revalidation
